Course content
|
Throughout the course the students develop coordination, balancing and spatial orientation skills required for kayaking on running water. The students also get didactic and methodological experience in training the screw type Eskimo roll.

Learning outcomes
|
The course focuses on improving kayak control and the technical level of kayaking on running water through various types of Eskimo rolls with an emphasis on the screw type Eskimo roll. Apart from practical skills, the aim of the course is to teach the methodology and didactics of training. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student is able to: - Perform the screw type Eskimo roll using a kayak in a training pool, - Apply appropriate methodological procedure of training the Eskimo roll and assisted training of beginners, - Eliminate health risks ensuing from training this physical activity skill.

Elementary kayaking skills at least on still water.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Didactic Test, Systematic Observation of Student
Active participation in seminars, Practical command of the screw type Eskimo roll, Knowledge of the methodology of beginner training.
