Course content
|
Thematic headings: Introduction to paediatrics, organisation of child health care. Childbirth, the first year of life, breastfeeding and nutrition. Preventive examinations, vaccinations, psychomotor development. Basics of medical genetics. Types of transmission and examples of diseases, infectious diseases. Diseases of the respiratory system. Diseases of the circulatory system. Diseases of the gastrointestinal system. Diseases of the blood. Diseases of the uropoietic system. Endocrinology, autoimmune diseases, some skin diseases of childhood. Neurological diseases of childhood. Acute conditions in paediatrics.

Learning outcomes
|
The student acquires basic pediatric knowledge in terms of the needs of the physiotherapist. Emphasis is placed on clinical physiology and pathology of function, and in therapy on its physiotherapeutic application. Mastery of the orientation examination in pediatrics within the range of conditions covered by medical rehabilitation and communication with the child during examination and therapy.
