|
The course presents the phenomenological-existential approach in psychologyparticularly in psychotherapy and psychopathologyas an alternative to traditional positivist perspectives. Key authors discussed will include: Ludwig Binswanger, Ronald D. Laing, Rollo May, George E. Atwood, Robert Stolorow, and Giovanni Stanghellini. The phenomenological perspective will be explored through diverse understandings of psychotic experience, including critical reflection on questions such as whether psychosis is really as "crazy" as it is often portrayed within the healthcare system. A central focus will be intersubjectivity, especially the relationship between psychologist or therapist and patient or client. Additional themes addressed within the phenomenological-existential framework will include phenomenology, subjective experience, existence, anxiety, authenticity, and dialogue.

Známkou
Attendance: a maximum of two absences is allowed to accommodate for personal emergencies. In case of absence, the student should be prepared for the next lesson regardless. Reading the required texts and being prepared for discussion. Active participation in class.
