Assessment methods and criteria
|
Mark, Student performance
During the exam, all students' language competencies are checked and the emphasis is put on the knowledge of the professional language of the doctoral subject. At the exam, the student prepares materials according to the examiner's instructions (usually a written presentation of his/her PhD-project and a curriculum vitae in that language, reading about 50 pages of the text in a given language related to the subject / topic of dissertation). These materials are orally presented during the exam and the student responds to the questions of the examiner regarding both content and language (e.g. explanation of grammatical phenomena).
