Course content
1st Photography as a technical information system, analog and modern digital technologies, technical resources 2nd What is a photo of what is photographic image, the visual information 3rd The basic processes of photographic images, thematic areas 4th The composition of the photographic image, basic principles of composition 5th The use of "golden section" in the photo, a rule of thirds, S-line, deployment kulisovité image surfaces, composition lines 6th Intelligence, reportage, documentary photography, the selection of topics and ways of their implementation 7th Black and white and color photographs in newspapers, in color image compositing 8th Photographic image in the media, information and estetizující functions, genres Photojournalism 9th Photos in journalism, journalistic photography and text descriptions 10th Basic errors in the acquisition and use of photographs

Learning outcomes
The aim of the seminars is to acquaint students with the theoretical foundations of journalism, photography and the ways of its use in newspapers and magazines. Emphasis is placed on the media functionality of photographic images and video communications in the media in general. Successive steps in creating photographic images are presented on the current work photojournalists and students' own work. Part of workshops and seminars are also ways of evaluation and classification of photographic genres used in the media and their relationship to the written or spoken text.
Students will acquire skills of the course according to sylabus
