Course content
1st Types of journalism and the media. Media content of printed and electronic media, their typical features. Journalist and media services organizations. 2nd Journalistic sources of information. Acquisition and processing, sorting, analysis, evaluation, retention of information. Ethical aspects of work with information. Methods of verification and objectification of information. 3rd Press news agency, their history and their position on the media market. Intelligence agency, agency service and ways of distributing information. 4th Print media, newspapers, magazines and other periodicals. 5th Specifics written journalistic work, the differences between serious and tabloid newspapers 6th Radio and its technological development. Methods of processing and signal propagation. Digitalization of radio broadcasting. Internet radio 7th Specifics of radio journalism, spoken word, forms processing news and current affairs in the audi-cial form. Types of news, current affairs radio programs, radio band, radio dra-matizace, entertainment 8th Television broadcasting, technology and methods of signal propagation, digitizing broadcast. Internet broadcasting. 9th Specifics of television journalism, audiovisual communication are forms, methods of processing intelligence and pub-licistických contributions. The difference between commercial and public broadcasters in terms of content 10th DTP printing technology, typography, printing and graphics. 11th Photos and graphic presentation of texts, visual communication. 12th Specialties newspaper and magazine photography information, news photography, reportage photography and photo reportage. Photo caption. Graphs and tables. Relationship visual communication to the text. 13th Education journalists. Journalists and related professions related fields.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to provide students with basic information about media types and their specific. Characterizes different types of printed media, radio and television stations. Acquaints students with basic concepts of typography, photography, radio, television and Internet journalism.
Students are familiarized with the main kinds of media and their specifics.

Seminar Work, Written exam

Credit: at least 2 / 3 participation in lectures + written test in the range of topics in syllabus: characteristics of the particular media according to aspects tematized the course.
