The course is to introduce the fundamental characteristics of communication media as one of the basic types of communication. In this sense, directly follows and develops knowledge in particular disciplines, Introduction to Media Studies, Introduction to the study of communication. Media communication is perceived as a specific and mnovrstevný process, which is part of the wider structures of society and culture, and influenced by them and it is itself affected. In the first part, students learn the basic concepts associated with the process of media communication, the method and possibilities of their use for the description of media communication. Basic theoretical and methodological anchor will be defined in relation to knowledge, theory and methods of other social-and humanities disciplines. In the second part will focus on various segments of the process of media communication and ways of "grasping" in terms of major theoretical and analytical approaches.
