Course content
1st Economics and the economy, the basic consequences of generating resources and needs, historical excursus to the origins of economic thought. 2nd Mercantilism, its characteristics, developmental stages and key representatives 3rd Classical political economy, leaders 4th Invisible hand of market process theory and the theory of distribution 5th German historical school 6th Political economy of Karl Marx, its background and consequences 7th The theory of marginal utility, Marginalismus, Menger variety, amputation Theory, Theory of exchange and price 8th Neoclassical economics, economic equilibrium model, the Anglo-American School 9th The crisis of neoclassical economics, the theory of imperfect competition, the theory of perfect balance 10th Economic growth theory 11th Keynesian economics, neokeynesiánství, postkeynesiánství, Modern Economic Theory (new neoclassical macroeconomics, new Keynesian economics and Postkeynesian 12th Conservative economics, monetarism, new classical macroeconomics theory

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the most current economic theories, develop students' knowledge of the basic terminology of economics, to allow understanding of the interpretation of economic theories, schools and movements. The course outlines key reference in the development of economics since the beginning of the theoretical economic thinking to the present. Along with the economic trends that affect the practical activities, students will be oriented in the field of alternative economic theories.
