Nonverbal communication: types of nonverbal signals (illustrators, regulators, adapters) and types of nonverbal statements (proxemics, haptics, postures, kinesics, gestures, eye gaze) 3. Rhetoric style and rhetoric genres 4. Preparation of public speech 5. Rules of informative speech 6. Rules of persuasive speech 7. Rhetoric decorations - figures, tropes and nonfigural devices 8. Figures and tropes - suggestive, emphatic, graphic (visual) and decorative 9. Politeness and tact in language 10. Chosen principles of rhetoric - summary

Learning outcomes

Chosen principles of classical and modern rhetoric about adequate, impressive, comprehensive and cultivated speaking towards listener or reader in particular rhetoric genres focused on public speeches.
Ability of smart, persuasive and cultivated speech.

Prerequisites
|
We recommend to pass the following courses before signing in rhetoric: Introduction to language studies (KZU/USJB), Contemporary Czech language 1 (KZU/SCJB1) and Contemporary Czech language 2 (KZU/SCJB2).
