Course content
1. Phonetics: its principles, division and cooperation with other subjects; orthoepy and orthophony; norm and codification; explicit and hint pronunciation 2. Speech production: description of respiratory, phonatory and articular system 3. Standard form of Czech vowel system 4. Glottal stop, its principles and ways of usage 5. Standard form of Czech consonant system 6. Changes of sounds in speech flow: voiced assimilation, articulatory assimilation, pronunciation of two (phonetically) identical sounds, pronunciation of other consonant groups and chosen words 7. Syllable, its principle, syllable types in Czech language 8. Word stress and stress group, rhythm in Czech language 9. Sentence stress and utterance sequences, phrasing 10. Sentence melody, description of main melody cadencies 11. Speech cadence and pauses

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
Systematic description of phonetic (acoustic) form of contemporary Czech language. Emphasis is put on practical adoption of present orthoepy norm. Goal of this subject is to strengthen awareness of demant for stabilized and cultivated pronunciation of prestige social group (moderators, radio and television redactors, spokesman/spokeswoman and other professions) which are bearers and models for nationwide public spoken communication.
Stabilized and cultivated pronunciation suitable mainly for preparation of the following professions: radio/television moderator, spokesman/spokeswoman, public agent
