Course content
I) analysis of literary, film and comic works How does "authenticity" in a literary work? What fiction says about our current world? What is different fictional, historical narrative and intelligence? What is the impact of film images on our image of the world? 1) Analysis of literary works. - Short stories set Miljenko Jergović: Sarajevo Marlboro. Olomouc 2008. Praha 2006, p. 82-108. 8) Projection (fiction) document. - Radim Spacek (dir.): Young men learn the world. 1996 Talk: Fiction as a statement about the current world (partial summary) II) Analysis of War News Through what genres inform the media about the conflict? What is the function of narrative journalistic genres (narrative feature, narrative types of utterances, the author guarantee the information or the narrator?)? The rate of taking information and "perspective" of the Czech foreign print media (power, ideology, and information). Rate influence of visual information in the press (photographs, newspaper headline as an image). 9) The role of domestic (Yugoslav) and launching media in fueling conflict, reflection of war in the Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian newspapers today. Reports: your choice - and the subsequent discussion. 12) How we collect, select and classify information about the current world? Final summary and discussion.

Learning outcomes
The seminar focuses on the analysis techniques employed in the mediation of war conflict. The aim of the seminar is to analyze the similarities and differences in use of the information hierarchy and their subsequent role in the creation of our "image" of the world
Analysis of topics and events.
Prerequisites
The knowledge of basic terms of naratology and media studies.

Assessment methods and criteria
Essay

Attending class regularly, actively participating in classroom discussion and structured activities. Reading the course textbook and supplemental material as directed. Coll.: disscussion about the research paper on the directed topic.
