Learning outcomes

This course, an introduction to media analysis, endeavors to provide you with basic tools and skills to analyze how text, sound and images are constructed, how they create meaning, how they influence our lives and how they have become embedded in communication.
The ability to apply the analytical frame on the media message and provide language and semiotically oriented message analysis.

Prerequisites
|
The knowledge of semiotics, text linguistics and the basics of photograpy, audial and audiovisual production.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance
75% regular attendance in class; the presentation of the chosen topic. Coll.: the ability to discuss over developed analysis.
