We shall discuss the differences between Medieval and New Age aesthetics, the features of the mediaeval genre system and the changes in the relationship author ? text ? addressee in the medieval and modern literature. Thus the previously gained knowledge about the literature of the 19th and 20th centuries is set in the context of development of Ukrainian literature.
