Learning outcomes
|
Lectures and seminars on Polish literature from the beginning of World War II to the present day. Objectives: To introduce students to the most significant works of Polish literature from the beginning of World War II to the present day and to the key issues in the literature of these periods, with particular emphasis on the turning points in post-war literature: 1945, 1949, 1956, 1968, and 1989. To develop the ability to analyze and interpret literary texts and place them in various contexts, e.g., historical, political, philosophical.
Very good ability to understand literary works, analyze and interpret literary texts, and place them in their historical and cultural context.

Prerequisites
|
Good knowledge of the history of Polish literature up to the beginning of World War II.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Student performance
Class attendance (max. 2 absences per semester), completion of assigned readings, active participation in discussions, individual work at home, passing final exam.
