Course content
Declension of masculine nouns, declension of toponyms and anthroponyms. Declension of feminine nouns, declension of toponyms and anthroponyms. Declension of neuter nouns, including toponyms. Declension of foreign nouns in all gender. Adjectives, possessive adjectives, the predicative and attributive adjective forms. Nouns. Numerals. Verbs. Transgressives and participles. Adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, interjections and particles. New lexical units in Czech lexicon. Gender linguistics in Czech language. The credit test.

Learning outcomes
This course further develops the content of the previous course and it presents the students with the morphological system of Czech language, i.e. the system of parts of speech and their flexion and categories, the norms and the alternations. We shall also marginally discuss the problematic of gender linguistics and expansion of Czech lexicon. We shall focus on the alternations in patterns for flexion, double forms and borrowed words and their flexion. Other topics are: proper names and their pronunciation and flexion, the problematic of motion, flexion of geographical names, adjectives and especially the possessive adjectives and their short forms, nouns and their flexion, esp. of the noun jenž, which is oftentimes difficult for students, and further on we shall talk about verbs and their classes.
Students will understand the morphological system of Czech language as well as the norms of Czech literate language.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of Czech, at least C1 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages, completing the 7CJ1 course and understanding the lexical, morphological and syntactic orthography.
