Learning outcomes
The course "Intercultural Communication" introduces students to the principles and specific characteristics of communication between people from different cultural backgrounds. The course develops the ability to understand cultural differences, prevent communication misunderstandings, and respond effectively in multicultural situations. Special attention is paid to communication strategies and value systems in the context of Slavic languages, particularly Polish, Russian, and Ukrainian, and their comparison with the Czech cultural context. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical activities, analysis of authentic situations, and the development of the intercultural sensitivity necessary for study, work, and personal communication in an international environment.
Students will primarily learn to reflect on their own cultural background, develop the ability to listen and adapt during communication, and cultivate critical thinking and teamwork in a multicultural environment.
