Course content
After completing the course the graduate will be able to: - present legal knowledge of the content, form and subject matter of law, - be oriented in concepts such as legal norm and its scope (and demonstrate understanding of its internal structure), legal regulation, legal branch, legal order, legal force of legal regulation, hierarchy of legal order, etc, - apply legal concepts and institutes in practice, including procedures relating to the promulgation of legislation, its validity and effectiveness, both for legislation with national scope and at the level of territorial public administration, - characterise the basic concepts and principles of public and private law, - locate a piece of legislation to solve a specific problem, - orientate themselves in the legal system of the Czech Republic.

Learning outcomes
The course belongs to the introductory professional law course, the main aim of which is to introduce the issues in terms of legal terminology and selected institutes in public administration and selected branches of public law, with an emphasis on the branch of constitutional law and the branch of administrative law. The aim is not only a qualified orientation in selected legal issues and relevant sources of law, but also an adequate ability to apply these legal concepts and institutes in dealing with specific legal situations. Particularly from the perspective of the constitutional framework, this subject is one of the core professional subjects, which will be followed by other legal disciplines.
- The student will learn the basic concepts and institutes of law. - The student is able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in model examples. - The student is able to interpret and apply legal regulations of the Czech legal system. - The student completing this course acquires basic knowledge in the field of law. The student will thus be able to apply the theoretical knowledge of the legal regulation of this area in practice to concrete cases.
Prerequisites
The completion of this course is not conditional on the completion of any other course.

Written exam

Completion of the correspondence assignment given in the tutorial.
