Course content
Management in education, public administration and local government. External and internal environment of the organization and their analysis. Particular management theories. Communication. Managerial functions, roles, competencies. Culture of the organization. Change management process, its phases with regard to staff diversit . Management vs leadership (transactional, transformational), motivation. etc.

Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Group work
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to present knowledge about the management of organizations and the context of the current educational (and the school) system with the aim to apply it on the management of educational institutions.
After the course, students will be able to: -explain the concept of an educational institution as a specific type of organization within the context of both micro- and macro-management (and current trends in education policy), and in particular clarify how the specific characteristics of the educational process influence the concept of managing an educational institution, -explain how factors in the external and internal environments of an educational institution can influence the quality of its work
Prerequisites
Active participation, ongoing preparation, and completion of the final assignment according to the instructions.

Student performance, Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio

The colloquium will be awarded for the preparation, presentation and defence of the seminar paper according to the specified structure: see the Moodle handout for details. 80% active participation in the class is required.
