Course content
1. Theoretical introduction: basic concepts, history of the field and sources of information (literature, web); 2. Goals, rules and principles of fundraising, ethical behavior in fundraising, legislative framework; 3. Person of the fundraiser; 4. Fundraising strategy (fundraising plan); fundraising argument; 5. Methods and techniques of fundraising, measurement of effectiveness; 6. Donors and where to find them; how to approach donors; how to apply; individual and institutional giving; 7. Corporate donations; sponsoring; 8. Public resources and EU programs; 9. Foundations and their functioning; 10. Model examples.

Learning outcomes
The course aims to introduce students to the principles and practices of fundraising, with a particular focus on educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and other entities seeking external funding. Students will gain an understanding of the role of fundraising within organizations, learn how to develop fundraising strategies and plans, and become familiar with a wide range of funding sources and fundraising methods.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: - explain the role and functions of fundraising within organizations, - identify appropriate funding sources for different types of organizations and projects, - develop a basic fundraising strategy and fundraising plan, - apply relevant fundraising methods and tools, - evaluate the advantages and limitations of various fundraising approaches, - follow ethical principles and donor stewardship practices, - demonstrate awareness of current fundraising trends and funding opportunities in both national and international contexts.
Prerequisites
Interest in the non-profit sector, educational institutions, and fundraising activities.
