Course content
1. North (Amazon region) Geography and climate Indigenous peoples and cultural traditions Economy and ecology 2. Northeast History of colonization and formation of regional identity Cultural heritage: music, dance, gastronomy Socioeconomic characteristics 3. Midwest Vast plains and agrarian economy Importance of Brasília as the political center Culture and lifestyle of the region 4. South (Southern region) European migration and its influence on culture Economy, industry, and agriculture Traditions, festivals, and folklore 5. Southeast Most developed economic and industrial region Major cities: S?o Paulo, Rio de Janeiro - culture, arts, media Social and cultural diversity within the region

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Methods of Written Work, Projection (static, dynamic)

Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to the geographical, cultural, and social characteristics of the five macro-regions of Brazil.
At the end of this course, students should have a basic knowledge of the characteristics of the main regions of Brazil.
