Course content
The course examines the cinematic work of Pier Paolo Pasolini, one of the most complex contemporary Italian directors. The films under study are the earliest in his production: Accattone, Mamma Roma, La ricotta, The Gospel According to St. Matthew, The Hawks and the Sparrows. The study perspective aims to highlight their most significant thematic and stylistic aspects.

Learning outcomes
Knowledge of cinematic language and its rhetorical and expressive value. Enhancement of film reading and interpretation skills.
Students will learn professional film terminology and basic interpretation of film in all its components, with the ability to interpret Italian film in a social context.

Oral exam, Student performance

Active participation in seminars, preparation for every lesson. Passing the exam.
