Course content
Public and private law The subject of law: persons Legal principles and the organization of law Natural and legal persons Associations and companies Legal relationships Property, ownership, and deprivation of property Movable and immovable property Obligations, contracts, and civil liability

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basic concepts of the French legal system (legal and natural persons) and with key terms of French legal terminology (property, contract, liability).
After completing the course, the student will be able to: understand the basic principles of the French legal system and distinguish between public and private law, explain key legal concepts related to legal subjects, particularly natural and legal persons, understand the basic principles of the organization of law and legal relationships, describe the legal status of associations and companies, explain basic concepts related to property, ownership, and property rights, distinguish between movable and immovable property, understand the basic principles of contractual relations and civil liability, use basic French legal terminology when working with simple legal texts and in professional communication.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Completion of the course is conditional upon the student's attendance in class, systematic preparation for individual sessions, active participation in seminars, study of the relevant academic literature, and participation in a final oral discussion during which the acquired knowledge is assessed.
