The course is about Turkish politics and society. It covers various key themes that are vital to understand Turkish politics and society, yet the dynamic relationship between them. The major purpose of the course is to give students a comprehensive understanding of Turkish politics and society. While the course aims to present its themes within the wider historical background, it also puts emphasis on more recent phenomena that define the current patterns in Turkey such as Islamisation, or the Kurdish problem.
