The aim of the course is to provide an overview of research methods used in the humanities from the end of the 20th century to the present day. Emphasis will be placed on familiarizing students with traditional approaches and techniques from the field of Digital Humanities. An important part of the course will be comparing individual methods and their methodological criticism. Thematically, the course will focus on selected topics from Digital Humanities, poststructuralism, and media theory. The lecture will be interspersed with examples of specific research questions and projects. Successful graduates of the course will gain experience in reading various types of theoretical texts from the humanities. They will be able to understand them and critically evaluate them. They will be able to design and methodologically describe their own research project or evaluate an existing project from a methodological point of view.
