Course content
Instrumentation of baroque, classical style, romantic, new-romantic and impressionistical instrumentation and instrumentation techniques in the 20 century music.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Demonstration, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
The course give a survey about the history of instrumentation. Students have to be able to play parts of the score on the piano, and to have good orientation in transpositions of instruments. Playing cadenzas in different kees is also part of the course.
Student have a survey in the history of instrumentation.
Prerequisites
Good knowledge of music theory, harmony and basic ability in playing the piano.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

The student has to be able to recognize the style of a composition according to the instrumentation of the score. Transpositions of instruments. Playing cadenzas on the piano.
