Course content
The program of meetings with selected personalities is planned individually each year; for the fall semester of 2026, it is as follows: Oct. 6, Katariina Liimatainen (University of Savonia), piano pedagogy in a global context Oct. 20, Václav Lipina (Erasmus+ scholarship recipient), the Czech Center in Hanoi as an example of the Czech Republic's cultural policy Oct. 27, Lenka Křupková and Jan Blüml (GAČR project principal investigators), grant support for musicology Nov. 10, František Hamajda (Gramofonové závody), the popularity of Czech music on the global music market Nov. 24, Karel Veselý, music journalism as a musical profession Dec. 1, Martin Kudla (executive director of Supraphon), Czech music and the recording market

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
This course introduces students to the roles in which musicologists are actively involved in the world of music.
Students will gain an understanding of the requirements for specific musical professions.
Prerequisites
A basic overview of the institutional structure of Czech musical life (theaters, orchestras, festivals, educational institutions, media, etc.).

Student performance, Questionnaire

Preparation for the seminar (guest's resume, etc.), active participation in the seminar, and reflection via a questionnaire.
