Course content
Subject of the lecture is the history of Roman literature from the very beginnings to the 5th century A.D. The lecture introduces to the main features of the individual periods of Roman literature from the republican era through the age of Augustus to the literature of the Roman empire. Learning outcomes
The aim of this lecture is to acquaint students with the history of Roman literature from the very beginnigs to the 5th century A.D. and with main authors and their works.
The aim of this course is to familiarise students with the history of Roman literature from the very beginnings until the 2nd Century A.D. Students will gain general knowledge about the literary communication in the individual periods of Roman history, learn more about evolution of the literary genres, and obtain basic information about main authors and works.
Prerequisites
Completion of the course in the history of Greek literature.
