Course content
|
The seminar focuses on developing German language and communication skills at B1 level. Students work with thematically organised texts, audio materials, videos, and exercises designed to support comprehension, oral and written production, vocabulary development, and communication in everyday, academic, and professional situations. All worksheets, audio materials, videos, and extracts from the coursebooks used are made available in Moodle. Moodle also contains the seminar schedule, which specifies the topics and materials covered each week.

Learning outcomes
|
Upon successful completion of the course, students will communicate more accurately and fluently in a range of situations, understand authentic spoken language more effectively, and be able to interpret it. They will express their ideas with greater confidence in informal discussions and more formal presentations and will develop the practical language skills required for academic, professional, and everyday communication at B1 level.
The goal is perfect control of level B1 according to CEFR.

Prerequisites
|
Intended for first-year students of the bachelor study programs at the Department of German Studies and for other interested students.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Didactic Test
Students attend the seminar regularly, participate actively in class, and prepare continuously for the topics covered. Preparation includes vocabulary work, reading the assigned texts, and completing any short written assignments. Successful completion of the course requires regular attendance, active participation, timely completion of all assigned tasks, and language and communication skills corresponding to B1 level. No more than two unexcused absences are permitted.
