Course content
The course focuses on reading and analysing Friedrich Nietzsche's The Birth of Tragedy. Students will engage not only with the text itself but also with the broader intellectual, cultural, and philosophical context in which it was written. This includes an introduction to the philosophies of Schopenhauer, Wagner, and Buddhism, insofar as they shed light on Nietzsche's work. Finally, the course explores the book's significance for everyday life. Literatura: - Magnus, Bernd, and Kathleen Higgins, eds. The Cambridge Companion to Nietzsche.
