Course content
Seminary with variable programme. Topics: Shakespeare: transformation of reception in the 20th century The conditions for credit: active participation, knowledge of literature, written assignment by assignment. Work with translation texts by Martin Hilský, Jiří Josek. 1. The Merchant of Venice (*) 2. Henry IV. (1st and 2nd part) / Henry V. 3. Hamlet (*) 4. Macbeth 5. King Lear (*)

Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook)
Learning outcomes
Theory of comparative literature with stress on theory of adaptation and interrelationship between literature, film and theatre.
Higher level of theoretical thinking, individual work with theoretical texts, individual consideration of interrelationship between literature, film and theatre. Students will learn to understand the problems of contemporary comparative.

BA degree, lectures on Introduction to Comparative Literature, theory of comparing

Essay, Student performance, Seminar Work

Active presence, reading primary literature, discussion, preparation to each lesson, presentation of selected topic.
