1. Introduction. Overview of the course content and distribution of individual assignments. 2. The Work of an EditorThe responsibilities of editors and copyeditors in cultural sections and specialized film magazines. 3. Basic Genres of Film Criticism. Introduction to the basic types of genres (particularly reviews, commentaries, and profiles). 4. Analysis of texts from popular and specialized film periodicals. Analysis of specific texts from the magazines Cinepur and Iluminace and from daily newspapers. 5. Group editing of written texts. 6. Group editing of written texts. 7. An introduction to the responsibilities of an editor in the cultural sections of print media, television, and other media. Mastering the basic genres of film criticism. Analysis of specific texts. Writing several reviews, editing the papers written by colleagues. Each participant will write two articles (reviews, commentaries) ranging from 1 to 3 pages in length. Each participant will also edit their colleagues' work. The instructor will evaluate the assignments primarily on adherence to length, topic, and genre; stylistic quality; grammatical accuracy; creativity; and originality. |
