Learning outcomes
|
The course is intended for third-year Bachelor's students and aims to enhance their analytical skills, develop their proficiency in working with theatre studies terminology, and broaden their understanding of contemporary Czech and international theatre. Each semester, a different phenomenon and different productions are selected for analysis, based on the current theatre programme.
Students will learn to analyse complex performances that do not conform to the principles of semantic and structural analysis, or that are not based on a dramatic pretext. They will understand the relationship between the creation of meaning and physicality. They will be able to present their analytical approaches and conclusions independently and without resorting to clichés.

Prerequisites
|
As the course takes place at the end of the third year, students are expected to have completed all core lectures and seminars with an 'A' grade.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary), Seminar Work
Assessment for a 15-minute presentation and the submission of the associated written paper of 10 standard pages.
