The aim of the course is to explore the various aspects of literary life in the Czech Republic. How do books actually reach their readers, where do readers find out about books, and who pays for it all? We will draw primarily on our own experience, reflecting on it and relating it to relevant data and scholarly literature. In addition to the topics listed below, at least one session will be devoted to a topic that the students themselves are interested in; alternatively, by agreement, some sessions may be replaced by an excursion.
