Learning outcomes
|
The subject aims at presenting of semiotics as a discipline and of elementary semiotic concepts. Students will be presented the overview of important milestones in the history of semiotics. Attention will be paid mainly to the relation between semiotics and linguistics and to the issue of semantic character of linguistic means. Possibilities of application of semiotic methods and findings in other fields of study will also be discussed.
