Course content
|
Over the course of the semester, students will work on their own case studies devoted to individual poetry titles published after 2020. In addition to reading the poetry collection itself, each case study will also include scholarly and journalistic research, and a part of the case study will be an interview with a selected actor in the literary world who has a connection to the poetry collection in question.

Learning outcomes
|
Over the course of three tutorials, we will focus on three different forms of current publishing practice in the publication of poetry: we will be interested in small publishers devoted exclusively to poetry, in poetry series issued under the imprint of larger publishers, and also in books of poetry brought out by major publishing houses. We will examine how the bibliographic code of such books differs, how their promotion and reception differ (and whether they differ at all), and we will also inquire into whether publishers have to subsidize the publication of poetry collections from other areas of their activity.
