Course content
1) The essence of language style, the tradition of functional styles; 2) Style-forming factors; 3) Stylistic value of expressive means of individual language levels; 4) Functional styles - classification, distinction according to function, characteristics of expressive means.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with current linguistic issues, especially with the influence of so-called stylistic factors on the selection and organization of language resources, and to show differences in language usage due to different functional styles and communication spheres. Students will be encouraged to discern the most important aspects of communication situations and adapt them to the resulting form of communication. The lessons will be devoted to following areas: 1) The essence of language style, the tradition of functional styles; 2) Styling factors; 3) Stylistic value of expression means of individual language planes; 4) Functional styles - classification, resolution by function, characteristic of expression means.
Students are familiar with current linguistic issues, especially the influence of so-called stylistic factors on the selection and organization of language means, they will understand the differences in language use due to different functional styles and communication spheres. Students will recognize the most important aspects of communication situations and adapt them to the resulting form of communication.
Prerequisites
Students have a B2 level of Czech language proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Students classify the text into the appropriate functional style and use appropriate expressive means functionally.
