Students will draw on the results of the analyses performed within the discipline Reading and Interpretation of Text I. Students will once again be encouraged to recognize the basic function the text has, given the prevailing function, they will learn to assess the suitability of the means of expression used and, if necessary, to replace them with adequate means. In the follow-up course, they will analyze texts of professional, artistic and rhetoric styles, the rules of the basic genres, their compositions and the requirements of the style will be remembered. The use of lexis and the adequacy of its interpretation will be examined, together with syntactic construction of the statements (the use of the means of communication, the degree of complexity of the hierarchy, the occurrence of active and passive structures, the word order and the textbooks etc.), morphological norms, etc. Students will be able to place the text in the corresponding communication sphere and realize the differences in the used expression means according to their function in the communication act.
Students will recognize the basic functions of a text in relation to its predominant communicative function, learn to assess the suitability of the means of expression used and, if necessary, replace them with adequate means. In the follow-up course, they are able to interpret texts of professional, artistic and rhetorical styles, master the rules of basic genres, their composition and style requirements. They use the lexicon functionally and create appropriate syntactic constructions, master the morphological norm. Students will be able to classify the text into the appropriate communication sphere and become aware of the differences in the means of expression used according to their function in the act of communication.
