This interdisciplinary course is designed to familiarise students with the analytical terms and research methods studying interrelations between texts and society with a concern for books and print as one of the key mass communication tools in our Euro-American culture. The aim of the course is to enhance students' theoretical and methodological competence in contemporary social and cultural theories. It is to support their capacity to apply interpretive strategies in their own research practice of analysing and conceptualizing critically social and cultural phenomena related to their dissertation projects.
