Learning outcomes
Students will gain a detailed understanding of painting during the reign of Charles IV, the peak period of Bohemian medieval art, focusing on both stylistic development and iconography. The course centers on works associated directly with the ruler or his wider circle. Artworks will be situated within their historical context, and the historiography of the field will also be introduced
The absolvent will be well versed in the bohemian painting of the 2nd half of 14th century, he will recognize the main tendencies ad iconography. He/ she will be familiar with main painters and theirs artworks and with the up to now research.
Prerequisites
Interest in the specific topics; basic orientation in general European history. Attendance of at least 80%.
