This course tackles environmental challenges in Southeast Asia, particularly climate change, resource extraction, and air and water pollution. Heat waves and flooding have heavily impacted people and matter in Southeast Asian countries, causing infrastructure destruction and displacement. Resource extraction has harmed the environment, for example, through mining activities and deforestation. Plastic pollution is a significant issue; in some cities like Jakarta, air pollution has reached dangerous levels. This course has the following objectives: a) enhance students' understanding of environmental challenges in Southeast Asia, including their causes and implications b) provide students with skills in poster presentation and environmental awareness
