Course content

Overview and analysis of parts of the test Written tasks in accordance with the requirements of the test (report, essay, review, etc.). Continuous short tests simulating CAE exam Lessons 1-5 in the textbook Cambridge English Advanced Result: - An overview of past tenses, description of character - Gerund x infinitive, relative clauses - Future tenses, phrasal verbs - Direct and indirect speech, sequence of tenses - Vocabulary (description of humans, animals, health and fitness, etc.). - Word formation - Colocation

Learning outcomes
|
The first part of a two-semester course for students of all subjects, with an advanced level of English. The course focuses on all forms of communication (speaking, listening, reading, writing) and provides help with the CAE exam preparation (level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference).
Speaking, listening reading and writing skills on advanced level, preparation for the CAE exam (level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Students will become familiar with the character of CAE, and will try out all the parts (reading, writing, vocabulary, listening, text analysis) and continuous tests will test their knowledge. Upon completion of both semesters of the course the student is ready for the test of C1 level.

Prerequisites

- Advanced level of English (B2+ according to the Common European Frame of Reference for Languages) - Good understanding of spoken English, proficiency both in written and spoken English

Assessment methods and criteria

Analysis of linguistic, Written exam
- Advanced level of English (B2+ according to the Common European Frame of Reference for Languages) - Attendance max. 2 absences - Active participation in classes - Homework grammar, texts etc. - Passing the final grammar test (min. 70%) - Presentations / other activities to be specified by the teacher at the beginning of the semester.
