Krantz, C. - Norton, J. Navigate B1 Pre-intermediate. Coursebook. Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2015. (units 4-6) Study materials in the Moodle system (available to students enrolled in the course).

Learning outcomes
The main objective for this semester is complete the next three units (4-6) from the Navigate B1 Pre-intermediate coursebook which develop students' communication abilities and include activities related to all four language skills. More focus will be put on the receptive skills of listening and reading comprehension.
After passing the course students will be able to use the grammar (verbs with -ing or the infinitive, future tenses with going to and the present continuous tense, articles, present perfect tense) and vocabulary (units 4-6 of the coursebook) well. At the end of the whole course (AJ1-AJ4) they will be able to prove that their language skills are at the B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
Prerequisites
English language on level A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference. This includes all the language skills, i. e. reading, listening, writing and speaking. Students' grammar and vocabulary skills must also be on the required level.
