When taught: Practicing grammar, reading, listening, acquiring nuances in vocabulary, etc. When not taught: Self-study.

Learning outcomes
|
In some academic years, the course is taught. In such cases, it is a one-semester course designed to prepare students for the internationally recognized Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) at the N1 level. In other academic years, the course is not taught, and enrolled students receive credit upon successfully passing the JLPT at the N1 level.
Upon successful completion of the course students will be prepared to take the official Japanese language exams JLPT at the N1 level.

Knowledge of the Japanese language at the advanced level.
