The course is intended for students of all years in both bachelor's and follow-up master's programmes at the Department of Asian Studies. The aim of the lecture series is to provide students with valuable advice and practical experience directly from professional practice. The course programme can be found in Moodle. Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the latest trends in Asian Studies at domestic and international conferences (co-)organized by (not only) the Department of Asian Studies at the Faculty of Arts, UP. The student chooses the conference based on his/her own interest. If he/she is not sure whether a given conference is suitable, he/she should contact the course supervisor.
Student should get the knowledge of latest development and trends in Chinese Studies (1. Cultural Anthropology of China, 2. Modern China, 3. Chinese Literature, 4. Chinese Linguistics, 5. Chinese History and Religion).

Prerequisites
|
The seminar is recommended for all students of Chinese Philology or Palacky University who want to expand their horizons into the latest research trends in Chinese studies and beyond.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Questionnaire
Requirements for course credit: attendance (80%) + a short final essay/reflection (1 standard page) + completion of the feedback questionnaire.
