Learning outcomes |
This course is a continuation of Chinese Painting 1 and is suitable for students who have already mastered the basic techniques of Chinese painting. In the course, students will deepen their ability to perceive and capture the tonal beauty of Chinese artworks. Under the guidance of the lecturer, they will become familiar with the specific features of the more complicated plant and animal motifs of traditional Chinese painting and learn the procedures and techniques of their reproduction. After finishing the course, students will be able to create the motifs discussed independently. At the same time, they will continue to work on how to calm the mind through painting. For the lessons, students will need Chinese painting brushes (1x small, 1x medium, 1x large), Chinese painting paper (in a roll), and Chinese painting ink, which are available at art supply stores.
