Learning outcomes
The course is designed for beginners who want to learn the basic techniques and procedures in Chinese painting. Throughout the course, students will learn different methods of putting brush to paper to capture each line's unique character by varying the ink's density. They will learn to perceive and replicate the technique of alternating light and shadow to create a three-dimensional effect and a sense of depth and distance. Under the instructor's guidance, students will learn to paint selected plant and animal motifs in Chinese ink painting. The course will develop not only the creativity of the participants but also their ability to relax mentally. For the lessons, students will need Chinese painting brushes (1x small, 1x medium, 1x large), Chinese painting paper (in a roll), and Chinese painting ink, which are available at art supply stores.
