The course aims to introduce students to the basics of the Chinese language. During the course, students establish and consistently strengthen their ability to understand spoken Chinese and develop skills in Chinese conversation. Through various exercises (drills), students adopt correct listening and pronunciation habits. They master elementary sentence structures and thus acquire basic competence in Chinese syntax. They also learn the basics of the Chinese writing system. The course is intended for students outside the study program of Chinese philology.
