Dementia - stages of disorientation, needs of a person with dementia, communicational method of validation according to N. Feil - particularities of communication with people with dementia, validating approach, principles and rules, the attitude of establishing contact with the client, verbal and non-verbal techniques used.

Learning outcomes
The goal is to acquaint students with the method of validation according to N. Feil, to help them acquire basic knowledge and skills necessary for the work with a person with dementia, to make them understand the conditions of disorientation, the needs of a person with dementia, to make them familiar with the particularities of communication with a person with dementia.
Student gains insight into the method of validation according to N. Feil, mastering the principles and rules of the validation method, is able to clarify the validation approach, can explain stages of disorientation, knows verbal and non-verbal techniques, and is able to specify the needs of a person with the disorder of orientation.
