The aim of the course is to teach students, through an introduction to the development, principles, and values of the Church?s social teaching, to synthesize knowledge gained in other subjects (e.g., sociology, social policy, basics of economics, and law) and to place it within the Christian ethical context of service to others and social responsibility. Furthermore, the course aims to encourage awareness, independent critical assessment, and understanding of the background, causes, and interconnections of social problems, as well as to develop social sensitivity and personal responsibility in relation to societal issues.
