The lectures will therefore focus on the specifics of Christian ethics: - the core of Christianity - Christianity as a way of life - pluralism in Christianity and the resulting plurality of moral positions - the ethos of the Old Testament - the ethos of the New Testament - the ethics of marriage - the ethics of the beginning and end of human life - the social teaching of the Catholic Church

Learning outcomes
|
To understand and present the positions of Christian organizations, it is essential to be familiar with the values and ethical concepts on which they are based. The lectures will therefore focus on the specific aspects of Christian ethics: - the core of Christianity - Christianity as a way of life - pluralism in Christianity and the resulting plurality of moral positions - the ethos of the Old Testament - the ethos of the New Testament - the ethics of marriage - the ethics of the beginning and end of human life - the social teaching of the Catholic Church During the seminars, students will examine and analyze the topics covered within the context of current religious-ethical discourse.
After completing the course, you will be able to: - distinguish the main denominations and streams in Christianity with regard to their ethical sentiments - identify the basic ethical lines in the Old and New Testaments - use the basic ethical categories in Christianity - compare different positions on controversial ethical issues within Christianity

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Final project
Choose a topic on which there are different ethical perspectives. Prepare a 10-minute presentation (ordinary, photos, video, podcast, web page) in which you explain: - what the problem is; - whether it can be related to a place in the Bible (specifically or general ideas); - what are the different attitudes towards it in Christianity (various groups, famous persons...); - the use of AI* *The student will include one of the following statements in the presentation: I did not use AI while completing this assignment. or: I used AI while completing this assignment. I confirm that: - This work is my own; the AI only assisted me. - I personally reviewed everything the AI did. While preparing this assignment, I used AI for: - Brainstorming - Drafting an outline - Searching for academic sources - Proofreading - Stylistic editing - Generating images - Other (please specify)
